Vacaaaaaaaaation.

My vacation! Just a week, but every little bit helps.

Tonight I am going to a going-away party for a Radiohead message board friend who found his true love on a Radiohead message board...one of several such I personally know, astonishing, really. He’s going to the Antipodes to be with her, and it’s as sweet as possible. I baked him a cake like The Wedding Cake, but smaller scale (of course!) and with no fondant in evidence. It was actually the easiest thing to do since I had a pile of chocolate in the cupboard already. Depending how late that goes, I might meet up with some other friends for drinks later on...

Tomorrow I am getting together with Lisa for tea or a walk.

Monday, I will attend the Canadian Men’s Olympic Team practice, and the Junior Team scrimmage game. Tickets were a mere $25, and proceeds go to charity. Since my budget would not permit me to get my season’s ticket for the Canucks again, this may be my last game in a while. It’s exciting though, all-star cast for sure. Later that night there is a Luv-a-Fair night at a club that I might go to; could be fun.

Tuesday is another dance night, Celebrities, $2 drinks, which should be fun.

Wednesday is My Birthday, and I will bake myself a cake and ice it white, and then take it to Salt Spring to hang out with Joie and her hubby and their brilliant 4 year old, Noah, who will help me decorate it. Bwa-ha-ha! I got icing tips and bags and whatnot today, lots of pretty colours.

I’ll stay on Salt Spring till early Saturday I think, and go out with Shannon and Lisa and Bonnie on Saturday night, ISO a good karaoke bar...

Kind of low-key, but hopefully relaxing :)

Still July

Fooled ya.

Lisa and Carey are moving back to Van...I should hear from them any minute. And they're moving ina cross the alley from me...two floors up, in the building just north of mine. We will be able to wave to each other from our balconies.

I'm off to Sun Peaks for the long weekend, see Mummy and my Dude.

Soon it will be August, my birthday month!

Whoa, it's July already

La la la. Got Beck ticket. Promised Shannon a Beck ticket for her birthday. Beck sells out. Go to eBay. Find a guy with three tix for a reasonable price but I only need one...I order it off-board (bad!) and hope. Today cruise tbastard and find they have released more tix. Buy one for Shann...I fully expect to receive the one from the eBay guy tomorrow LOL...no biggie; I will sell day-of out front.

Have bought either 7 or no tickets for Sigur Ros at the Orpheum in September. Credit card online issues...tried a few different browsers and PC and Mac. I talked to Visa...I think I'm protected if I want to cancel some of them.

Anyhoo.

Still alive. Going to Saltspring to visit friends on the weekend. I think summer might be coming next week! more than one nice day in a row!

So holiday was great; PRB and I broke up a week later, after the (incredible) Gang of Four show.

Since then, doing not much: working way too hard, got a client for my wee company, parents have been in and out of town.

Still haven't won the lottery, go figure.

Scraping my pennies to pay the property tax.

A week to go

Till my vacation!

Very exciting.

So since my last post, I have had four dates with the Punk Rock Boy™...we went to the Shonen Knife show, then we went to the Hot Hot Heat show, then Saturday he took me to dinner and I saw his place, then last night he came over for dinner.

Work is busy, I have a really full schedule till I leave on Tuesday: tomorrow night: bake two cakes, one for work and one for Sean's girlfriend Amanda's party on Friday night; Saturday, sushi lunch with some of the kids; Sunday, get the house organized and get my laundry done and bake another cake for a work birthday; Monday after work: pack, and then a food geek dinner at Chambar at 9:00 (sadly, the PRB™ can't go cause he's working 19 11-hour days in a row on a Tom Arnold movie set, and Monday will be like day 15...) Then Tuesday I work and then Tuesday night I'm off to the City of Angels! my friend Carlos is picking me up at the airport, and I'll see my friend Peggy, and then Friday I'm off to Indio for Coachella, yay!

That's Saturday and Sunday, meeting up with some friends there, and then Monday I'll drive up to Joshua Tree National Park, then Tuesday I come home and the PRB™ is pciking me up at the airport :D

I will try to post (and post pics!) from my trip!

Friday

Well, it's April Fool's Day, and I felt still fairly crap this morning so I stayed home again...in fact, I slept in till like 11:00.

Tonight I have a date with the Punk Rock Boy™ (his name is Paul, we've been on 9 dates, v low key (I think it would even get a G rating except for the way we dance)), we're going to see Shonen Knife and The Evaporators and Raised by Wolves LOL...should be fun. I am looking forward to just getting out of the house, in fact, haven't even checked the mail since Tuesday.

Taking off for California April 26, in LA for a few days to visit my chums there and then off to Coachella for the concert, can't wait.

Yeah, way exciting huh? Oh and the dude got mummy and me a travelling laptop so we can download pics off cameras and email while travelling, it's a wee G3 iBook, refurbished. It's cute and fun! Now I can be connected every waking hour LOL.
