Christmas already

And yeah it's Christmas. I'm at my units' place, haven't skied yet, lounging about with mah three black dogs around me.

The present situation is pretty OK, lots of cookbooks and other books, some DVDs, some clothes, and a raincoat for Choobie. :D

Not a lot going on, hoping my house isn't broken into while I'm away. Backed up my computer to the web just in case, as being the thing I'd have most difficulty replacing. Although my Vespa is specifically not covered by my homeowner's insurance, so that's something I'd have trouble coming up with the cash to replace.

The Radiohead shows were v v good: Berkeley with Aleks, saw Michael No. 6 afterwards; drove down the coast, took a few pics; went to Robert's in Bakersfield, took him to LA for lunch with Peggy and then down to San Diego for that show, saw May, zipped back to LA with Shoey and Bort...and home again far too soon.

Birthday party saw lots of friends, it was good.

Gunner came to visit for a week in October, weather was great.

Fall has been dull really, other than that.

Bring on 2007.

Hell yes.

K. I was staying up late (3:12 a.m. was the magic hour) to get Radiohead tickets on waste. I did it last time, it worked, all was well, I got into the pit and everything.

I get through to nab my Saturday in San Fran and fuck me but it won't accept my credit card. 10 times I try, 10 times I get an error message. Nothing wrong with my credit card, but the same thing happened with the Sigur Rós presale, it wouldn't take my card. Grrrr. Happily, Aleks was online too, and we had been MSNing desultorily here and there to keep awake, and she got her tickets and was able to scooch me one for the show I wanted, too...unfortunately, she had NOT already gotten her LA nights, and then LA sold out. WAH! I had no idea, or I would not have asked her to do mine right then; San Fran didn't sell out for some time.

Tomorrow is the TM sale. I am going after 1 San Diego ticket and if that pans out, I will try desperately to get some for Aleks. Heaven knows I can sell them on to another ateaser if she lucks out on her own.

Concert calendar: I'm a little tempted to go to Ladytron tonight, but I've had a lot going on and I don't think I could stay awake.

I am going to Franz Ferdinand/Death Cab on Friday with a girlfriend, and last week I got my tickets for Jose Gonzalez and Seu Jorge. Sunday at dinner, they played the whole Seu Jorge album of Bowie covers, sigh. I've also got a 4th row ticket for INXS, and an 11th row ticket for sale. Yeah yeah yeah, whatever! JD Fortune is HOT.

I am seriously considering going to Budapest to see Radiohead at the Sziget festival, since I fear my chances of getting tickets for a North American show that is scheduled conveniently are rather low. We'll have to see how funds pan out. My kitchen is getting there...cupboards arrived yesterday, and are being installed. next: counters; next: appliances can finally come in.

Just because

It's been for freaking ever, and I have three more days of work before I buy my new house, and move and spend a shitload of money (some of which I will actually have, for a change) and all that kind of thing.

I am practicing packing avoidance, almost as good at it as I am at tax (preparation) avoidance and housework avoidance.

I am wondering actually how the small dogs are going to be in the new house; I have to get them their shots pretty ASAP so they can go outside! and then of course, how are they going to be when/if I get an actual canine dog.

Anyway, I'm still alive, wee blogger.
